Title: Evaluate your students first!

:) There's one thing I would like to share with English teachers here. This method might take a long time to prepare students for their upcoming UPSR, but it's worth it! If you are teaching English Year 4 next year, organise several evaluation ( in writing forms) to know where your students' level in the language. The test could be done in early January, so that to know what type of strategies or techniques to teach them. In the test you can prepare MCQ questions based on what they have learned in Tahap 1 (Year 1,2 & 3). Then you do some analysis whether your students have achieved certain levels. It takes a bit of hard work from teachers but in the end you will be satisfied when your students have overall achieved the target. The purpose of doing this is for students to learn the 4 skills - listening, speaking, reading and writing. But the most important skill is reading - it is essential for students to read and be able to comprehend whatever they read. In 3 years time, your students might score in their English UPSR paper!
